*Hi-Top – Good vibes, and goooood coffee. Various toast options too. Yoga across the street @toweryogafresno
*The Revue – Long time iconic tower coffee house. Great place to work or catch up with friends. hip vibes. Just a little farther than Hi Top.
Kuppa Joy – Friendly neighborhood spot, definitely started the local coffee scene in town. Delicious.
*Teazer – Nice tea spot on Olive in Tower.
La Elegante – The real stuff. Mexican food in a non assuming downtown joint. Usually buzzing. Order to-go or sit in one of the wrap around booths. (Closes at 3pm.)
Chef Paul’s – great soul food. classic chicken and waffles etc.
*Piemontes – Best sandwiches in town. Been around forever. Snag some gourmet groceries for dinner while your here.
The Shepherds Inn – Old school hang spot for cowboys just off the trail. Serves traditional basque, badass bar over one hundred years old. Perfect for a shot of whiskey & a beer, lamb chops, or (Brit’s favorite) the white ruffy.
*Goldstein’s Mortuary and Delicatessen: Huge selection of beers on tap, ecletic scene, back patio for smokes and usually a live band on any a night.
*Livingstone’s Restaurant and Pub: An institution. Lively and fun atmosphere with patrons of all ages.
Tioga: Popular brewery downtown. food trucks and usually some music scene goin’ on.
Full Circle Downtown – we like this brewery out of an old warehouse downtown. get the ‘villa vanilla’, holy moly.
*The Library At Detention: Plan ahead and get a reservation first. Next is a journey to a secret bar a top a pool hall. Craft cocktails, 1920s atmosphere. (Don’t forget to wear your fancies, we hear its strictly enforced.)
*Spoke Easy: Small hidden brewery popular with cyclists on a lesser known street in tower.
Legends – If you want a night out this is the spot. Multiple dance floors and bars -with a swimming pool in the back to boot. Be ready.
*Fab – Right on the Olive main strip, no matter the day or time, rain or shine, this place always seems to be going off. Attentive security, mean drinks, shows on Friday at Midnight are on point.
*Oggi Cosi Si Mangia – super cozy and romantic italian food out of an old house in the tower district.
*Veni Vidi Vici – Diamond in the rough. If the weather’s nice the back patio is where it’s at.
The Annex – New hip spot, great craft cocktails, fresh menu. Lively scene. Be sure to make a reservation, its a popular joint and should be.
The Lime Light – dark booths, classic bar, updated menu. Great spot with a traditional vibe.
The Root – Thank God for the Root! Leading the Downtown scene, make this your first stop. Cool vibes, unique stuff, real good people.
Nicholson Hat Co.: Get a custom to your liking hat made to last a lifetime. Female hatter, which is rad. Really, as good as it gets.
Old Tobacco Manufacturing: Pairs as a tattoo and mens vintage clothing shop. Americana meets motorcycle vibes out of an old house in tower.
Yoshi Now! – Insanely good vintage out of a huge warehouse in downtown. Furniture, clothing, and various quirky goods from the 1960s & 70s but still not too pricey.
Reloved Vintage – Superb collection of vintage furniture and home goods from the midcentury modern era. Much of the DOS HQ came right from this spot. Owned by two friendly females. Get on it.
*Bebe O’s– Just down the block. Vintage clothing, etc. Worth the stop.
Stay at DOS co-owner Brit and her husband Jeff’s AirBnB, Some Tower House. 60s vibes from head to toe. Or if thats booked stay in The Carriage House in the back. 2 bedrooms and dripping in a psychedelic orangey glow. Both a short distance to the DOS HQ.
Vineyards Farmers Market– So most of the country’s produce is gown right here in the valley. Reason enough to hit this popular farmers market. It’s also where Ash and Brit’s mom wrangled them up every Saturday, with bribery of honey sticks of all flavors. Wednesdays 3pm-6pm, Saturday 7am-noon. Rain or shine.
Sam’s Deli & Grocery – The reviews speak for themselves. Superb selection of wine, pickled things, freshly sliced meats/cheeses, and everything Italian. A Fresno institution.
ArtHop – Really, a crown jewel in Fresno. Artists’ from all over the valley showcase their wares in different venues around the city. Pick up the map and jump on the tour or just hit downtown for a full experience in one spot.
Gazebo Gardens – Not your average nursery. Every Thursday, friday, saturday enjoy a few ice cold brews amongst the flowers and plants. food trucks and live music too. Hip crowd, family friendly.
ApCal – Grab your picnic blanket and enjoy this large Outdoor live music scene. Local food and wine in a vineyard just outside town.
