Not only did Jessica kill it in our “Tessa” gown, but she styled her wedding like a bohemian dream — seriously. We’re still in awe of every detail that was meticulously planned. Bravo and a big congrats to Jessica and Tyler!
X THE MEETING STORY
I was a free spirited 16 year old girl, he was a 20 year old college student. Shortly after becoming acquainted online, we were falling asleep on the phone almost every single night. We would share our fears, our dreams, and make plans to travel the world together. We helped each other through some of our toughest times. We kept each other going. I couldn’t believe that the most kind, genuine person I had ever known…was someone I had never even met. After several months, we finally met face to face. Seeing each other, our lives were changed. I knew I had met my soulmate. Here we are 6 years later. I believe the universe will always bring you to the person you were meant for.
X THE PROPOSAL
It was our 4 year dating anniversary. Tyler had just gotten a go pro and he started the day off testing it out. We went to breakfast and then Tyler told me that we were going on an adventure. He recorded us driving up to the house we had put an offer in on and there was a “sale pending” sign in the yard. I was overjoyed to find out that we were really taking that next step. We sat in our new driveway and talked about how unreal it felt that our lives were just beginning. After that, he took me to the spot where we first met. We reminisced about how incredible it felt seeing each other that first time, we remembered everything about that day. The tears were already flowing going back over those emotions. Next, he took me to the park in my parents neighborhood. We had gone there years before, and sat on this little bench just talking about life and getting to know each other. This time we sat on the same bench. Tyler told me that this was the spot where he knew he couldn’t live without me. Then right there, he asked me to marry him! I cried and cried the happiest tears. He had the go pro hidden & recording the whole thing! I will always cherish that moment.
I wanted our wedding to tell our story. Tyler is a realist, and I am a dreamer. He keeps me safe and I keep him dreaming. I love the balance that each of our unique qualities bring to our relationship. I wanted our aesthetic to be eclectic, to represent a love that never has to be perfect to be beautiful. We chose to decorate our entire ceremony with mismatch vintage treasures, to represent a love that would last forever. Even though each piece was different and unique, it was so clear that it was all meant to be. That’s the way our love has always been.
I went out in search of a long sleeve, low back, high neck, full lace gown. I wanted something timeless and classic, but bohemian and earthy. I wanted to feel beautiful and elegant, but comfortable and free. I had envisioned this beautiful gown in my mind, and I was so afraid it didn’t exist. When I visited The Sentimentalist in Atlanta, the stylist read my mind. She pulled the DOS Tessa gown for me to try on first! Them moment I put it on, I knew it was the one. It was everything I had dreamed of and more. It complimented the aesthetic of our wedding perfectly, and paired with the DOS Exhaulted belt, I felt more beautiful than I could have imagined. I did not want to take the dress off and literally wore it for hours after the wedding was over!
